Schengen Visa requirements for Czech Republic
A lot has changed since Czech Republic joined the Schengen area on 21.12.2007.
Currently there are 26 countries in the Schengen area: AT, B, CH, CZ, DK, ES, EST, FI, FR, DE, GR, HU, IS, IT, LT, LV, LUX, MT, MON, NL, NO, PL, PT, SK, SL and S.
Although England and Ireland are not fully 'Schengen', their citizens enjoy Schengen-rights, which means they do not need a Visa or Work Permit, but can just make use of the EU temporary Residence Permit.
Bulgaria and Romania are not yet Schengen, and therefore citizens are considered 3rd-Country Nationals!
Although it would be more correct to use the term 'Schengen' Citizen, since not all EU is 'Schengen' in practice everywhere 'EU-citizen' is used on publications, but holders of a Schengen passport is meant.

This Schengen policy divides foreigners in two groups:
- EU Citizens (and IS, NO, CH, LI)
- 3rd-Country Nationals
Because the two groups are treated completely differently, select the appropriate link at the bottom of the page.
